Private visit: a tour of Dovlatov’s flat for your party alone

At 10:00 the museum has not yet opened. At 21:30 it has already closed. In those hours apartment 34 goes to a single party: you, the keeper and the neighbours behind the walls. No other groups, no strangers’ shoulders at the stove — the pace, the questions and the route are yours. Daily, from 10 000 ₽ for a party of up to six guests, no prepayment.

When the museum is yours alone

daily · 10:00 and 21:30 · the house is closed to outsiders · by booking only

People book a private visit for all sorts of reasons: a date that will be remembered better than any restaurant; a gift for parents who read Dovlatov in samizdat; a visitor to the city you want to show the real St Petersburg, not the postcard one; an unhurried visit with children — on nobody else’s schedule; personal photography in the original interiors.

The evening slot is a genre of its own: the house goes quiet, light from the windows falls on Rubinstein Street, and the communal flat sounds the way it sounded to Dovlatov himself. The morning slot is the flat’s quietest hour, before the first guests.

What it costs

Party of 1–6 guests10 000 ₽one price — for two or for six
Each additional guest+1 000 ₽from the seventh guest on

The arithmetic is honest: for a party of six, a private visit costs no more than six tickets to the Sunday immersive evening — and the flat is entirely yours.

How it works

You choose a date and a time — any, from the day after tomorrow. Outside the house you are met by the flat’s keeper: someone for whom it is a home, not a workplace. Then apartment 34: Dovlatov’s room with the tiled stove and port stains on the parquet, the shared corridor, the kitchen, the house register with the surnames of the characters from «Ours». Everything can be touched — this is daily life, not a display case.

The programme can be tailored to your party: the classic tour or an evening with the emphasis on the texts — we will discuss it when confirming the booking. Real neighbours live behind the walls: this is not a set but the condition that keeps the flat alive.

Enquiries

Frequently asked questions

Is it suitable for a date?
Yes — an out-of-the-ordinary date in St Petersburg is the main genre of the evening slot: at 21:30 the museum is closed, light from the windows falls on Rubinstein Street, and the flat is yours for the evening. More romantic than a restaurant, and it stays in the memory longer.
How much is a private tour for two?
10 000 ₽ for a party of one to six guests — the price is the same whether you come as a couple or as six. Each guest beyond six — 1 000 ₽. No prepayment: booking is free, payment on the day of the visit.
How is this different from a regular tour?
You get the flat without another group in it. At 10:00 the museum has not yet opened; at 21:30 it has already closed. In those hours the house is closed to outsiders, and the flat goes to one party. The pace, the questions and the route are yours.
Can I give the visit as a gift?
Yes — it is one of the most common reasons to book. Write to hello@dovlatovmuseum.ru or call +7 931 109-12-35: we will book the visit in the name of the person you are giving it to and send a confirmation presentable enough to go in an envelope. The simplest route is the gift certificate «A Telegram Invitation»: an invitation in the recipient’s name, ready within the day.
Can we take photographs?
Yes — during private hours the museum part of the flat is at your disposal, including personal photography in the interiors. The residents’ rooms stay closed: people live behind those walls. Commercial shoots by arrangement.
When can we come and how do we book?
Daily at 10:00 and 21:30; dates open from the day after tomorrow. Book through the form on the site or by phone on +7 931 109-12-35; no prepayment.
Is there a toilet?
Unfortunately, no: the toilet is in the residential part of the flat — that is the residents’ area, and the museum has no access to it. Fitting a separate toilet in the museum part is not permitted under the regulations for a residential building. The cafés on Rubinstein Street will help out — there are dozens around.
