What to expect

01A real communal flatThe back staircase, a kitchen shared by five, five-metre ceilings and a radio behind the wall. Not a set and not a pastiche: people really do live here, and almost everything is as it was in the seventies.
02Dovlatov’s roomHere he wrote and drank port with Brodsky, listened to records cut on X-ray film and hated the wallpaper. The stains on the parquet are still there — wine was spilled in this room long before your flight.
03A studio behind a locked doorThe room of the artist Tatyana Mileant, which stood behind a locked door for thirty years, is a time capsule: brushes, canvases, jars of paint. Everything is just as she left it.

After the flat — a short walk through the courtyard wells, where nothing has changed since Dovlatov left. Leningrad as he remembered it: damp, gloomy, honest.

The finale is in a gem of Rubinstein Street: an intimate, hidden place known only to «insiders». A wine flight from a leading chef — three glasses of good wine and snacks inspired by Dovlatov’s era. This is not a tour but an evening with character.

Suitable for a date or an anniversary?
It is one of the main scenarios for the dinner: an unusual date in St Petersburg — a candlelit table in Dovlatov’s genuine communal flat, with no other tables and no restaurant noise. Tell us when booking that you have an occasion — we will suggest how to shape the evening.
Can I come alone?
Yes, you can. The base price is 30 000 ₽ for a party of up to four guests, each further guest +5000 ₽. The flat, the courtyards and the wine flight are booked for you entirely, with nobody else.
From what age?
It is an evening format with wine — 18+. It is not for small children; for a family visit, see the museum tour.
What if I do not drink wine?
Say so in your request — we will pair the snacks with non-alcoholic drinks, the price is the same. The evening rests not on the wine but on the flat and the stories.
Is the staircase steep?
Yes. This is a residential building of 1912: the rubble-stone steps are original and comfortable to climb; there is a lift in the entrance hall, but the thresholds and narrow doorways are still there. If anyone in your party finds it difficult, write to us in advance at hello@dovlatovmuseum.ru — we will explain the details.
How do I give the evening as a gift?
Easily. Write to hello@dovlatovmuseum.ru or call +7 931 109-12-35 — we will agree a date, make it out in the name of the person you are giving it to, and send a confirmation you will not be embarrassed to put in an envelope. The simplest route is the gift certificate «A Telegram Invitation»: a summons in their name, ready within the day.
Is there a toilet?
Not in the flat: the lavatory is in the residential part, the residents’ area. But the dinner takes place at the ZAZAZU restaurant in the same building — and the lavatory there is very comfortable.
